Financial services firms 'struggle to find best recruits'

Financial services providers find it difficult to connect with the best candidates, despite being presented with a talented pool of jobseekers, it has been claimed.

In comments that underline the need for recruitment agencies, online job board OneWire points out that the finance employment market continues to grow increasingly complicated, putting pressure on in-house recruiters and headhunters.

Skiddy von Stade, chairman of the group, says: "Today, while finance firms benefit from having access to one of the largest and most talented pools of candidates in recent memory, the recruiting process itself remains costly, time-intensive and inefficient."

He went on to say that this is making it extremely difficult for financial services to connect with the best talent for the job.

Earlier this week, Tony Restell, founding director of careers website Top-Consultant.com, commented that jobseekers should put a CV 'sales pitch', which outlines why they are the best candidate for a role at the top of their resume and tailor this to each post that they are applying for.
